Today, I am going to give you Tips for “Questetra BPM Suite”, a Cloud service provided by Questetra, Inc.
There is the feature “Guide Panel type Data Item” which is provided to make “Questetra BPM Suite”‘s Operating screen easier-to-understand. I would like to show you some basic uses of this feature.
The target of this article are the two following:
- People who want to know the true basics of HTML
- People who use “Questetra BPM Suite”‘s Process Modeller
“Guide Panel type Data Item” that Enriches Operating Screens
Although “Guide Panel type Data Item” is a kind of Data Item, it is not for handling data such as numeric values or strings.
Using “Guide Panel type Data Item”, you are able to describe notes and specific procedures, etc. For working on Operating screens (to handle Steps) in Questetra BPM Suite.
What you need to write notes or procedures, is knowledge of HTML.
It would be alright not having knowledge of HTML when you would only need to use a few words or in a single line. However, if you want to enrich* your sentences, you will be required HTML knowledge.
*Line breaks, Bold, Bullets, etc.
Conversely speaking, a person with sufficient HTML knowledge is capable of creating a very easy-to-read screen.
This article is for people who think “HTML is too hard to study!” Because I am going to tell you how to be able to enrich your screens by learning how to use only three tags.
Super Easy HTML Tags (two of them)
An HTML tag are “markers” that indicate things such as “Here is a line break”, or “Bold in from here and there”.
Tag to indicate a “Line Break”
On an Operating screen, line breaks will not be reflected even if you put a line break in a Guide Panel type Data Item.
Whereas, when you put an HTML tag
<br/> wherever you want, a new line will be fed there.
Please don’t forget a Slash (/) after br in
Tag for “Bold”
When you would like to put emphasis on words in a sentence, you would make the letters bold. To make letters bold, enclose the letters with
</strong>, just like so:
<strong>Letters to be bold</strong>
Please don’t forget a slash (/) before strong in
</strong> which is put at the end of the string to be bold.
Not Super, but still Easy Tag
I suppose that you understood that you are able to indicate Line break / Boldface in easy ways. Now, the next challenge is “Bulleting”.
It’s not as easy as Line break / Boldface, but yet you can make a bullet lists easily.
To make lists bulleted, use tags of
<li>. Just like the example below:
<ul> <li>....list 1....</li> <li>....list 2....</li> <li>....list 3....</li> ... </ul>
A little bit complicated, isn’t it?
Enclose each list item with
</li>. After finishing enclosing all the lists, enclose the whole list with
Please don’t forget a slash (/) in
</li> to be put at the end.
Now you know a few simple HTML tags, so that you are able to make the Operating Screens in Questetra BPM Suite easier to operate.
Once again, let’s take a look at the appearance before and after using HTML tags.
See? It became much more neat only by using three types of HTML tags, which I introduced above.
Not only in the Guide Panel type, but also in the “Description” in other types of Data Items, it is possible to describe notes, etc. Using HTML tags. Please try them.
That’s it, for today!
