Management of Product Development Requests from Six Sites in the World
==Information-sharing with Oversea sites used to be inadequate==
Q. What kind of business do you use Questetra for?
Prime Polymer Co., Ltd. is a corporation for the manufacturing and trading of “synthetic resin”.
You might have seen the abbreviations “PP” or “PE” in daily life, we manufacture resins referred to as “Polypropylene “or” Polyethylene”, which are widely used in the world as materials for “plastic containers”, “liquid detergents” or even reinforced “car bumpers”.
We introduced Questetra to manage product development requests from our overseas sites. We accept a wide variety of product development requests from our overseas sites in North America, Thailand, China, India, Brasil and in Europe. We have systematized the procedures between originating the request and replying to it.
Q. What kind of challenges did you have?
Request of products which is led by overseas sites’ specification are considered as well as the production volume at the respective sites, and then sent to the head office.
Previously, those requests had been filed in the workflow “Notes”. However, they were unable to access directly from oversea sites since we were operating “Notes” on the domestic intranet. Therefore, we were taking a flow to summarize the contents of the request into Excel, then email it to a person in charge in Japan, and then the person registered it into “Notes” on behalf of the requester.
However, I think we had challenges, such as:
- The staff at the overseas site was not able to see how far his or her request had been processed
- A proxy applicant must constantly send feedbacks
- To begin with, the inputting of the request content required working double
- Unable to be expedite due to time difference
Now, we can eliminate unnecessary progress confirmations, thanks to becoming able to understand the progress of all the requests easily. Also, I think we have become able to work fast.
In addition, now the duty of a person in charge of accepting requests is just to confirm the requests, so we do not have to do the same work twice.
==Collaborations with Other Cloud Services in the Future==
Q. What kind of comments have you heard from the Users?
I have heard someone said ‘I don’t have to be worrying about whether or not there might be work that remains undone’.
In Questetra, the work you must do will come into “My Tasks” automatically. So I suppose that the workers have peace of mind when they see the “My Tasks” list empty, which means all the jobs have been done and nothing is left.
Q. Please tell us about what are your plans for the future.
In Prime Polymer Co., Ltd., we have been promoting improvement in productivity and development a system environment that contributes to the convenience of customers, by collaborating with multiple business systems and databases.
Henceforward, we are planning to expand the use of Questetra to a wider range of departments and business operations. In this plan, we are going to build up the collaboration of the internal system with various Cloud services.
To find the best combination of services based on understanding each of their advantages, so that all the employees will be able to use each service seamlessly. That is our ideal.
Even though we might be able to do anything if we eventually tried, since Questetra has various APIs, from User’s perspective, we would like it to evolve into a simpler and easy-to-use system.
