Attached File Names in Emails Sent from Questetra May Not be Displayed Correctly

Bug Details

  • Occurs in operating
    • Send an email with attachment of files of File type Data Item by “Throwing Message Intermediate Event (Email)” etc.
  • What will occur
    • Email client such as Gmail / Outlook cannot display the filename of the attached file correctly
      • This problem ocurs in long filename using DBCS (Double Byte Character Set)
      • Extension disappears from the filename and it becomes an undecoded character string
      • Since the contents of the file are normal, you can open it by renaming the filename

Workaround ・ Recovery

  • When attaching a file to outgoing email from Questetra, please give its file name referring to the following
    • Filename in single byte alphanumeric characters (Safe for 40 characters or less)
    • If using DBCS, make it short (Safe for 7 characters or less)
  • It is a problem because the encoding / decoding method of the filename of the email sending side (Java) and the receiving side (Email client) does not match
  • We are investigating for correspondence to this event
  • This Bug is due to be fixed in the next releasing version
